A Quick Look At The HCG Diet Plan 

There are a lot of diets that you can subscribe to, but most of them are going to be extreme, and will not follow the body’s natural structure. It’s with that in mind that one doctor developed what is known as the hcg diet plan. This option is named for the hormone that is produced by the human body during the pregnancy stage that a woman has. This may seem odd, but it’s interesting to see man people subscribe to it and gain serious movement forward with tremendous results. The craze that is now somewhat normal demands for a change in eating habits that can be seen as extreme.

A Look At The Option 

The easiest way to understand the hcg diet plan is to consider the caloric intake. The average person is supposed to have around 2,000 calories a day. However, with this plan at the helm, people are asked to eat no more than 500 calories a day for 8 weeks. At the same time, the person will get a shot of the hormone to help with the exchange of low calories and supplements that are needed to move forward. The shots are 100% legal and while the FDA has not approved them, they are not necessarily banned at the present time.

The Upside

The upside to this plan is easy to see, and that’s pure weight loss. The issue here is a matter of caloric intake. If you consume less, then you will weigh less. This is a tried and true solution that millions of people know about and have documented for years. However, the upside also comes with the notion that you are restricted to only two meals a day, skipping breakfast entirely. This comes against what many people feel is the best way to get going in the morning. Of course the nutritional components of what you’re eating has to include one protein, one vegetable, one bread, and one fruit, so it’s not like you can get away with eating donuts every day.

The Downside

The caveat here is just the fact that with the hcg diet plan, you will not eat much. You have to stay within the caloric requirements, or you will not make it forward. This is something that most people don’t understand straightway. You will not be able to eat things that you may want, because of high caloric accounts. This can rub some people the wrong way, as they will feel as though it’s a starvation diet. The key is that it’s not long term, it’s only 8 weeks.

In order to succeed with the hcg diet plan, you have to have a great deal of discipline. Not only that, you will need to also watch for warning signs of starvation and other issues that could come as a result. Does it work? Yes, it does work, but because it’s short term, some medical professionals feel that this can also be dangerous for some people.
