Weight Loss Smoothies – Mixing The Right Ingredients

One of the best ways to lose weight is through drinking your meals. This means that you’ll mix ingredients and omit eating a great deal of calories, and gain a punch of nutrition. One way to achieve this is through the use of weight loss smoothies. This differs from juices in that you will have additional ingredients that will make this a bit thicker and more varied in texture, flavors and more. While juicing is a good route, this is for those that are not going to want to have watery drinks on a regular basis. Smoothies can also be more filling and provide a great deal more results than juices alone.

The Key To Weight Loss

The first thing that you should know about smoothies, is that you should drink them in replacement of at least one meal. Replacing one meal with this will help you achieve your goals over time. You need to spend time figuring out what your goals are and how you will add exercise to your diet. This is not something that you should try to do over the course of 3 meals, without asking a physician for advice. For those that want to replace 2 meals, this could work, but again, be careful when going to extremes with this. The key to weight loss here is balanced nutrition, exercise, and proper use of smoothies for dieting.

Mixing The Right Ingredients

The ingredients that you have in your smoothie is important. Look at whole vegetables, fruits, and juices with added ice, and yogurt. Yogurt is best when it’s nonfat and it is not heavy cream. There are a variety of options that you can explore in this arena, and you may find that the best solution will be a matter of trying several things out before settling on one. Try out several recipes, but make sure that you do not overdo it with yogurt or milk. Instead, utilize fruit that has a great deal of liquid already such as berries, mango and more. The more “juicy” the fruit is, the less you will need to rely on other ingredients for taste, and consistency.

Finding The Right Balance

There is a balancing act to the purpose of weight loss smoothies, and it’s all a matter of how you mix ingredients, and use the nutritional compositions to your advantage. When you find that you are getting a good balance, your body will react appropriately. For recipes, try to find many online and seek out a book if need be. Just remember, you will need to focus on the right ingredients in the right mixes in order to get the right vitamins and minerals. Many people end up making a “milk shake” and not a smoothie, as it’s easy to go overboard with the balance of sugar, cream, and other elements that could make up a smoothie. When in doubt, focus on blending fruit together for a good nutritional punch.
